WTI in slight gains on session

Crude oil prices were mixed Friday, seeing gains in New York but falling in London.
About half an hour before the close of floor trade, West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery were 14 cents higher to $95.60 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange but April contracts for Brent crude dropped 35 cents to $94.81 per barrel on the ICE Futures Europe exchange in London.
Nymex March gasoline traded 2 cents higher at $2.50 per gallon just before the close of floor trade but April heating oil was trading even at $2.64 per gallon at last report while April natural gas dropped 8 cents to $8.71 per million British thermal units.
The price of platinum continued to skyrocket on damage to a smelter in South Africa and on the possibility that demand could exceed supplies by as much as 400,000 ounces this year.
After trading as high as $2,075 per troy ounce overnight, April platinum was up $57.80 to trade at $2,063.70 per troy ounce in New York.
Gold and silver both, with April gold down $4.70 to $906.10 per troy ounce and March silver trading at $17.51 per troy ounce, a decline of 14 cents on the session.
May copper was 4 cents higher to $3.54 per pound in New York and 3-month copper in London gained $60 to $7,740 per tonne as London Metal Exchange inventories fell by 4,000 tonnes during Friday’s session.
March wheat on the Chicago Board of Trade dropped 4 cents to $10.27 per bushel but May contracts added 1 cent to $10.42 per bushel in Friday trade.
CBOT May corn was up 4.15 cents to $5.27 per bushel while May soybeans gained 5.75 cents to $13.91 per bushel.
