Coca-Cola develops re-sealable cans
by Kay Murchie
Coca-Cola has developed a new drinks can which can be re-sealed. It works by using a flat plastic tab that swivels over the can’s opening.
Coca-Cola has been testing the can in Jersey and Guernsey and the group is now assessing the idea and considering whether to roll it out further. However, there are no plans as yet to sell the cans in the UK
A spokeswoman for the soft drinks giant said they are continually looking at ways to innovate across their portfolio and that the new innovation is creating a lot of buzz.
Coca-Cola is sold in stores, restaurants and vending machines in over 200 countries and is often referred to as just ‘Coke’. It was initially meant to be a patent medicine when it was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton. The company now produces many varieties of the drink including cherry coke, vanilla coke, lime coke and raspberry coke.
