by Kay Murchie
A long-term joint venture is to take place between the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS Group) and the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC). Together they will provide business development and financial services support to the small business sector.
RBS Group, which includes NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank, will be the new main sponsor of its National Chamber Awards for the next 3 years. RBS Group is to sponsor the achievement in international business category and has doubled the prize money to £50,000 available to the national ‘Winner of Winners’, the award for Outstanding Business Achievement. The National Chamber Awards 2007 will be revealed in London on 29th November at a gala event.
Chief Executive for Royal Bank of Scotland Group UK Business Banking, Steve Pateman, remarked that the group is extremely proud to launch this long term partnership with the BCC, starting with the National Chamber Awards in November.
Director General of the BCC, David Frost, added that they are pleased that RBS Group has become their national and international banking partner. RBS Group has one of the largest banking teams, surrounding all areas of business banking.
Mr Frost added that both companies are committed to helping local businesses to grow and prosper. The partnership promises to be very productive for British businesses.
The BCC concluded that with RBS’ generosity in doubling the prize to £50,000, this amount will make a vast difference to the business that will win the desirable award for Outstanding Business Achievement.
