US bond yields on the rise again

Prices for US Treasury bonds were lower on Friday, and yields grew, on new data showing that the US unemployment rate is steady. Australia markets see gains

New York equities markets were lower at midday on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average had dropped 0.28 percent to 13,539.25, while the Nasdaq Composite was 0.04 percent lower to 2,643.89 and the S&P 500 was down 0.21 percent to 1,521.64. European markets were higher as well. The FSTE Eurofirst 300 added 0.8 percent to 1,612.5. Brent crude August contracts were 35 cents higher to $72.98 per barrel on the Intercontinental Exchange on Tuesday, while August delivery West Texas Intermediate was 11 cents higher to $71.20 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
